Right after Crysis 2 development cycle, I helped the team during pre-production of the next game, Crysis 3.
Both Crysis 1 and Crysis 2 were very successful in different ways, so for this third installment the vision was to merge the urban environments of New York from the second game, with the more organic and denser environments of the tropical islands of the first game, and create overgrown and damp looking environments, where nature rapidly started to reclaim the structures.
This theme would allow for more creativity in the design of the levels, since the team wouldn't be stuck to the limiting constrains of a city anymore.
